Boredom. We all feel it at some point. But for most of us, it’s a lot worse than usual right now.

So, when you’ve cleaned, streamed, organized, meal-prepped, rearranged furniture, taken a walk, taken a nap, shopped online and cleaned some more, what else is there to do?

When you’re running out of ideas, here are a few suggestions inspired by our partners to help you overcome some challenges and stay occupied, entertained and productive.

Eating, Drinking & Sleeping

Try A New Diet

If you’re worried that boredom eating is going to pack on the pounds, then think about a diet food delivery program like Nutrisystem or Freshology. There’s no planning, no shopping, and no prep. It’s just ready-made, chef-crafted food with plenty of snacks that are definitely not boring.

Have Healthy Meals Delivered

If you’re avoiding the store, but entirely bored with meals featuring non-perishable pantry items, try out a meal delivery service. You can’t go wrong with Sun Basket and Purple Carrot who both deliver high-quality ingredients to make fun and interesting meals.

Gain Some New Insight

Take the time to work on the deeper reasons for what you eat, or how often you eat, with a diet strategy like Noom. It will help you take a closer look at your eating triggers and lose weight by reevaluating your relationship with food.

Surprise Your Pets

These days you and your pet may be spending a lot of extra time together. We know the dogs are into it, the cats - maybe not so much. Regardless of their attitude, they're part of the family, so keep them well-fed and minimize your shopping, with a pet food delivery service like Farmer’s Dog, Ollie or NomNom.

Discover Your Inner Sommelier

If your drink of choice is a little more grape-based, try Winc or Vinebox for a selection of wines sent directly to your home. Try new varieties, and ensure you have plenty of beverages on hand for virtual happy hours.

Get Better Sleep

Do you feel like you’re sleeping more than usual because of boredom? Make it better! Having a quality mattress makes a big difference in how well you sleep and can help reduce body pain when you wake up. Have a look at a direct-to-consumer mattress from someone like Saatva or Nectar.

Get Into Self-Care

Learn To Love Exercise

Working out will definitely keep you busy but the same routine can get boring. Fitness apps like Openfit and Caliber, both have a variety of workouts. But they also offer the kind of coaching, interaction, and personal attention that you can’t get from a YouTube video or DVD.

Explore Facial Fashion

If you’re bored at home and bored with your look, a new pair of glasses is a change you’ll notice every time you look in the mirror. Fortunately, Warby Parker lets you try-on up to 5 pairs of frames (at a time) at home.

Perfect Your Smile

Want to go big while you’re staying home? Then a long-term, image-altering option like teeth alignment from SmileDirectClub or Byte may be just what you’re looking for. Or for something simple, try a teeth whitening solution from Snow

Energize Your Mind & Home

Devour Some Books

The idea of using this time to catch up on your reading is pretty popular. But if sitting down to read isn’t really “you” then how about taking in a good book on your feet? While you’re cleaning, taking care of the kids, getting some work done or taking a walk, Audiobooks is a great way to listen to a story.

Unlock Your Language Skills

With some extra time, why not become a little more familiar with a foreign language? And not just watching a foreign show on Netflix. You can use an online program like Pimsleur to become bilingual.

Remember Better Times

If you’re missing your friends and family, take a favorite photo and use Easy Canvas or Canvas Pop to turn it into wall art. Going through all of your old photos, and reminiscing about memories, is an activity on its own.

Make Plans For Change

Bury your boredom with the excitement of making big plans. While it may not be the best time to have a work crew at your home for an extended interior project, it may be the perfect time to start planning all the work you want to be done. Find and start talking to local contractors through Home Advisor

Make Your Home More Efficient

You may be able to explore some external home projects too. For example, gutter guards, from LeafFilter would mean that climbing a ladder to clean your gutters, is one less risk you have to take. You can also look into installing solar with SunPower, to take advantage of government tax credits and reduce your energy spend.

Plan Ahead For Your Pets

Furry family members bring so much life and energy to a home. Keep them safe and healthy with health coverage. Pet insurance from PetFirst, Petplan or Pets Best will help you get them the help they need in case of unexpected accident or sudden illness.

Protect Your House

Speaking of safe guards if you have to stay in the same place, make sure it’s as safe a possible. Protect your house for when you’re in it, and when you’re not, with a home security system from someone like Cove Smart.

If getting through boredom and finding ways to pass the hours is one of the challenges you’re facing, we hope that at least one of these options will be the spark of inspiration you’re looking for!
