Life’s Too Short to Drink Bad Wine

Winc

Winc is a direct-to-consumer wine club that makes discovering new wines easy and fun by giving you access to diverse, small-lot wines from around the world. Working directly with vineyards and winemakers Winc handcrafts all of its wines from grape to glass to craft unique and personalized wine experiences for every member.

You’ll begin by answering 6 questions to create your initial Palate Profile so Winc can assemble your first shipment. After that, you’ll receive new wines each month that match your tastes. As you try new wines you can rate each one in your account to continually refine your preferences and receive increasingly customized shipments. You can also edit the wines you’re scheduled to receive to explore something new or re-stock an old favorite. If at any point in your membership you receive a wine you don’t enjoy, you’ll receive a credit for the full value of your bottle towards another wine of your choosing in your next shipment. Winc subscriptions are also available as gifts in 1,2 or 3 month increments.

Winc also champions respectful winemaking with a commitment to organic, vegan, low-sugar, low-sulfur, sustainable, and natural wine options while making every effort possible to operate in a way that minimizes their environmental impact.

Bright Cellars

Bright Cellars was founded by two MIT grads with a passion for wine. They combined their love of wine with their entrepreneurial and technological aptitudes to develop a wine club that’s based on science and connects members with high-quality wines they’ll love. Together they developed a machine-learning algorithm called Bright Points that dynamically rates individual wines on a 100-point scale based on members' actual preferences and uses.

To create your initial profile, each membership begins with a brief palate quiz that identifies your flavor preferences. Then your first wine experience is algorithmically filled with wines whose point scores fit your profile. As you sample new wines each month the feedback you provide helps power the algorithm to refine your profile and deliver even closer matches over time. Basically, it's like the “Pandora” of wine, the more wines you review, the better your matches get.

Bright Cellars curates their wines from small vineyards in countries around the world including Spain, Italy, Portugal, Austria and South America. Each wine is sampled by their team of in-house sommeliers before it becomes available to members and each delivery includes additional information about each bottle to help you learn more about each wine. If ever you don’t love a bottle you get, they’ll send a replacement.

VINEBOX

VINEBOX specializes in handpicked wines from small wineries all over the globe. The by-the-glass format makes every shipment a unique tasting room experience. Each box contains a selection of seasonal wines curated by an in-house team of sommeliers and experts. As individual bottles, these high-end wines would usually cost an American customer a fortune, but single vials make sampling affordable.

You can also join the quarterly or annual wine club and get 9 wines every 3 months or choose the holiday-themed 12 nights of wine box. Both options include a mix of timeless classics or seasonally themed selections. You can also give the gift of fine wine to a friend with a 2-4 shipment gift membership. What happens when you want more than a glass of something you like? Get a full bottle! You can make purchases through your account; annual members receive $30 in full-sized bottle credits every quarter and quarterly members receive $15 in full-sized bottle credits every 3 months. Quarterly memberships renew every 3 months while annual memberships are paid upfront with the option to renew each year.

You’ll never receive mass-produced wines, only samples of small-quantity creations with a regional charm that come with the individual stories behind the wine, the people, and the place that produced it.

Nocking Point Wines

Nocking Point delivers ultra-premium, one-of-a-kind craft wines that are always on-trend. By working with a portfolio of high-profile celebrities and tastemakers they’ve created a light-hearted, first-of-its-kind winery that has become the fastest growing wine club in the Pacific Northwest.

The winery was co-founded by Stephen Amell (who you might recognize as Oliver Queen from the CW’s Arrow) and Andrew Harding. The two also partnered to make the series “Dudes Being Dudes In Wine Country”. What started as a road trip, has lead to an exciting entry in the wine club space that is all about extra special wines and the unique stories & people behind each bottle.

Since their inception, Nocking Point has produced and branded wines with celebrities like Jason Momoa, Aisha Tyler, Ashton & Mila Kutcher, Tom Welling, Stephanie Beatriz, Zachary Levi, and of course, Stephen Amell himself. Among the labels, you’ll find fun names like “Quarantine” Pinot Noir, “Pink Wine for Dudes” Rosé, “Couch Wine” Pinot Grigio, and “3rd Date Cab”

Nocking Point offers monthly and quarterly wine club memberships that provide two bottles per month or three bottles per quarter. Both subscriptions also give members 10% discounts on all products and free shipping. The quarterly membership also includes a bag of custom roasted coffee and an exclusive t-shirt. Speaking of coffee, if you’re a java junkie, you can also join their monthly coffee club.
